A lunch speaker series for members that highlights a specific topic or theme around fund development. This series is ideal for a wide range of participants from board members, executive leadership, fund development committee members, front-line community engagement staff, and volunteers. We encourage participation at all levels to ensure full buy-in and, hopefully, continuity of the fund development mission within member organizations.
Join us on Wednesday, March 28th for our first Speaker Lunch of 2018. Melanie Johnson, Development and Marketing Officer of the Fredericksburg Area Museum (FAM) and FAFRE member will present how the museum managed communication, public perception, the media, and donor relations during a time of transition. As FAM moved to the Historic Town Hall, they navigated how to approach both their donors and the public about the closing of their doors and the sale of the Catherine W. Jones McKann Center. Through it all, they stewarded a renewal of community support through reopening the museum, rebranding, and providing new programming.
